Focused on preventing healthcare-acquired infections and conditions (HAIs and HACs) with smart sensors and wearables, Vitalacy is led by CEO and Cofounder Janel Raanan, who was inspired to start Vitalacy after losing her grandfather to an HAI.
Janel vowed to prevent harm to patients and reduce the suffering endured by their families. Coupling her computer science and product development experience with her deep fascination with human behavior, she launched the Vitalacy Patient Safety Platform – designed to protect patients from preventable infections and conditions.

Executive Sales Leader with a demonstrated 20-year history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Specializes in Infection Prevention, Oncology, Medical Devices and SaaS. Previously served at the leadership level with Genoptix and Secura Bio. Former College Basketball Coach with a BS in Chemistry, Biology, and Business Management from Arkansas State University. CJ enjoys spending time with his family and friends at their lake cabin in the Ozark Mountains.
VP of Operations
Health tech executive with 15 years of healthcare and medical devices experience. Specializes in product launches from concept and market research to CE and FDA approval to commercial strategy and business development. Manages delivery and service of Vitalacy’s Hand Hygiene Monitoring Solution. BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
VP of Finance
As VP of Finance, Stephen oversees all financial operations here at Vitalacy Inc. He has over 10 years of experience in similar roles within the tech startup space, including Resy (Acquired by American Express), NexTravel (Acquired by TravelPerk), and Bluestone Lane. Stephen attended Seton Hall University and enjoys playing basketball, playing fetch on the beach with his dog Cooper, and spending time with friends and family.
AVP of Engineering
An electrical engineer specializing in embedded system design with extensive experience in full stack engineering, Linux kernel development, mobile development, and circuit design, Dylan leads our LA office’s Engineering Team. With his expertise, Vitalacy has successfully designed and launched three new groundbreaking products with more on the horizon. Dylan attended Case Western Reserve University and dreams of becoming the ultimate ninja warrior.
VP of Product Operations
A Client Experience executive with 15+ years of experience ranging from health care and banking to social movement. Aryan excels at providing an exceptional client experience, utilizing a client-centric ethos and strategy, while using advanced technologies to meet the clients’ needs. He is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Biology. He enjoys his part-time residence in Hawaii and spending time with his partner and fur babies.
Product Manager
Product Manager with over 7 years of experience across strategy and marketing functions. Erica is enthused about the role of technology in innovating products and growing businesses. Previously, Erica was a Product Marketing Manager at a health technology startup that utilizes technology to improve the treatment journey for epilepsy patients. In her spare time, Erica enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, and traveling around the world.
Implementation Manager
As Implementation Manager, Tony oversees the delivery and installation of our product suite. Tony attended California State University where he received a BA in Graphic Design and Business Management. His hands on approach has strengthened the Vitalacy brand – assisting in a variety of departments including Marketing, Client Services and Delivery. Tony has been with Vitalacy for three years and enjoys spending time with his adorable French Bulldog, Stitch, when he isn’t working.
Client Experience Manager
Carlos comes to Vitalacy with over 15 years of service experience ranging from tech startups to apparel brands. He champions integrating technology solutions to better serve clients. His go-getter attitude and enthusiasm for new product launches has proved crucial in his role as Client Experience Manager here at Vitalacy. When he isn’t working, he loves exploring new Honduran food restaurants in LA.
